Five Good Questions with Buffalo Rumblings We’re less than 48 hours away from the Minnesota Vikings’ second home game of the season Dan Bailey Jersey , as they will host the Buffalo Bills on Sunday afternoon at U.S. Bank Stadium. The Vikings and Bills haven’t played since 2014, and the Bills haven’t come to Minnesota since 2010 when they played in the last game at the Dome before the roof caved in. So, you know, that’s their fault.(Okay, not really.)As is our wont, we got an opportunity to sit down and exchange some questions with the folks from Buffalo Rumblings, SB Nation’s home for everything relating to the Buffalo Bills. I exchanged these questions with Corey Giacovelli, and you can see the answers I had to the questions he sent me over at BR by clicking this link here. Here are the questions that I sent to Corey, along with his responses. Enjoy!1) Last year, the Bills snapped the longest post-season drought in the league, making it back to the playoffs after a 17-year absence. This year. . .well, with all due respect to you guys, they’ve looked bad thus far. How did it drop off so quickly for you guys?2) One of the strangest stories of last season was the Bills’ treatment of quarterback Tyrod Taylor. Taylor appeared to be a relatively solid quarterback Brett Jones Jersey , but the Bills seemed reluctant to commit to him, and now he’s in Cleveland. Can you provide any insight as to why that whole thing happened?3) With Taylor officially out of the picture, the Bills initially started with Nathan Peterman at quarterback, but quickly turned to first-round pick Josh Allen. In Allen’s first start, what did you see that encouraged you and what did you see that worries you going into Sunday?4) Do you think that Sean McDermott’s job is in any sort of jeopardy, or did the playoff appearance last year generate enough goodwill to help him weather what looks like it could be a rough year in Buffalo?5) Give us one player on each side of the ball that Vikings fans might not immediately know that you think could make a difference for the Bills on Sunday. Thanks again to Corey for taking the time to answer our questions about this week’s game. We’ll have more about Sunday’s contest as we get closer to kickoff. Merry Monday, everyone!I hope everyone had a great weekend. I made the best of my Sunday with nothing locked into the schedule, I missed watching the Vikes, but I got a lot of outside work done. We’re in winterizing mode here in North Dakota, so it’s time to bring out the snowblower up for its annual oil change and whatever else needs to be adjusted or replaced. The snow will be here soon, I don’t like to be caught off-guard. I mowed the lawn, and I don’t see more than one more being necessary for 2018.I’m sure you’ve all seen the statement that Everson Griffen released late last week. If not, it’ll be linked below. It’s very encouraging to see that whatever issue he has is being addressed Ameer Abdullah Jersey , and it sounds like he’ll be back, both as a football player and as a person. I think that the team handled this extremely well, respecting Griffen’s privacy while showing genuine concern for him. Hats off to the Vikings front office, and especially to Mike Zimmer. You can see the amount of care he has for his players, and that it’s genuine. He’s been through some rough times in life, having lost his wife, and walking through those types of trials will definitely alter one’s perspective and help to get priorities in the correct order. Let’s hope this bit of news will help the team’s defense to get back on track. They’ve not played like the dominant defense they can be. Coverage has been sub-par, and it’s not just a player or two who is struggling, it’s the entire unit, which tells me it’s either schematic (which I doubt, there’s no scheme telling Rhodes to hold on to receivers) or something that’s mentally taking them off of their game. Maybe this will be what it takes to give them the lift they need. We’ll see on Sunday.Around the DN since our last open threadBig Grinan Persons shared the statement that Everson Griffen released via the Vikings.Quite a few Vikings team records are in danger of being broken by Cousins and Thielen, per Chris.Chris has the Stock Market Report: Rams.TCO Stadium hosted its first high school football game, per a fanpost from Chris.Vikings news from other sources and news from around the league:Catch up on all the week four scores and highlights Danielle Hunter Jersey , courtesy of NFL.com.From Vikings.com, hear Mike Zimmer address the media after Thursday’s game, also see Kirk Cousins’ media address, and there’s lots of other traffic to view in the media vault. From NFL.com, Earl Thomas suffered a leg fracture yesterday. This is an illustration of why I have no problem with players wanting to get paid or lock in some long-term guaranteed money. Thomas wanted a long deal, didn’t get one, now his career could be over. These guys are always potentially one play away from being forced into retirement, better get paid while you can.We come to our media selection:At 1-2-1, I’m guessing lots of Vikings fans are taking the approach suggested by the legend, Merle Haggard. This is one of my favorite singers of all-time, I got to see him live in Tacoma Washington in 1995, and I vaguely recall parts of that evening. Enjoy!Again, we all know the rules Eric Kendricks Jersey , but in case someone is new:No discussion of politics or religionNo feeding of the trollsThis isn’t a male version of The View, so leave the gender hatred at the doorKeep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tagsNo pictures that could get someone fired or in serious trouble with their employerIf you can’t disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go awayWhile navigating the open thread, just assume it’s sarcasmWith that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up and tie one on. Don’t forget to tip your waitress, and try the head cheese.

  Miami Dolphins Jerseys 2019
Posted by: panxing18 - 8 hours ago - Forum: Kenalan Yuk - No Replies

Moments after becoming a Miami Dolphin Isaiah Prince Jersey nfl draft , defensive tackle Christian Wilkins nearly sacked Roger Goodell.Wilkins gleefully leaped into the commissioner on the draft stage in Nashville, Tennessee. The Dolphins hope it was the first of many NFL celebrations by Wilkins, a 315-pound lineman from Clemson with an outsize personality to match.“Very charismatic,” Miami general manager Chris Grier said with a chuckle. “He told us it was the best decision we ever made when we picked him.”A rebuilding project has left the Dolphins perceived as the league’s lightweights, and to help change that, they used the 13th overall pick on the bulky Wilkins.More Miami Dolphins newsDolphins sign veteran lineman Jordan Mills to 1-year, $3 million contractJosh Rosen believes he can be Dan Marino-type franchise quarterback with DolphinsDolphins new QB Josh Rosen bids goodbye to Arizona, congratulates Kyler MurrayDolphins bolster defense Chandler Cox Miami Dolphins Jerseys , provide Josh Rosen with another shot to be franchise QBDolphins acquire QB Josh Rosen from Cardinals for 62nd pick, 5th-rounder in 2020The Dolphins went 7-9 in 2018, and after shedding numerous veterans from the roster this offseason, they’re widely expected to be worse this year under new coach Brian Flores. Their odds for winning the Super Bowl are 250 to 1, longest in the NFL.Even so, Wilkins was thrilled to be Miami-bound, as Goodell could attest after being targeted with a flying shoulder bump.“He wasn’t too upset about it,” Wilkins said with a laugh. “He wished me good luck. I’m surprised he didn’t hit back or anything. I did get him kind of hard. My shoulder is actually hurting a little bit from how hard I bumped him Miami Dolphins Jerseys 2019 , but I was just so excited.”Miami passed on Ohio State quarterback Dwayne Haskins, and instead attempted to shore up a defense that last year allowed 6,257 yards, most in franchise history. The draft was deep in defensive linemen, and some projected Wilkins as a top-10 pick. Last year the first-team All-American had 15 tackles for a loss and six sacks. The Dolphins had an extensive scouting report on Wilkins because their new defensive line coach, Marion Hobby, was his position coach at Clemson.“A very smart, versatile player Chandler Cox T-Shirts Jersey ,” Grier said. “Highly productive. I love the size, the athletic ability. For us it was an easy decision.”Wilkins helped the Tigers win two national titles, and became their first scholarship player to earn a degree in 2 1/2 years. He’s optimistic he can excel with the Dolphins.“I know about the history — guys like Dan Marino and Jason Taylor who put on that uniform,” he said. “I want to work hard so I can get to the point where I can be considered great like those guys.”While Wilkins was in a celebratory mood, he turned reflective when asked about his grandfather, killed in 2011 when a SWAT team rifle accidentally discharged during a raid.“My grandfather meant everything to me,” Wilkins said. “He was the most influential person in my life.”In opting for a lineman, Miami has still used a first-round pick on a quarterback only once since 1983. Well-traveled veteran Ryan Fitzpatrick signed with the Dolphins in March Infant Chandler Cox Jersey , and they’ve acknowledged he’s merely a caretaker, but the draft wasn’t deep at the position. The Dolphins might pursue Arizona quarterback Josh Rosen, who is on the trade market after the Cardinals used the No. 1 overall pick to take quarterback Kyler Murray of Oklahoma. Arizona took Rosen with the 10th overall pick last year, and the former UCLA star had a rocky rookie season.“We’re investigating all avenues,” Grier said. With a multitude of needs still to be addressed, the Dolphins have one pick in the second round and another in the third round Friday. They’ll be in the market for an edge rusher and right tackle, among other positions.“Where we are, we’ve got to build the roster up and create depth and competition everywhere Chandler Cox Jersey nfl draft ,” Grier said. Thanks to their willingness to pick up some of the quarterback’s salary, the Dolphins got a 2020 fourth-round pick in return for quarterback Ryan Tannehill in last week’s trade with the Titans.Tannehill reworked his deal for a guaranteed $7 million for the 2019 season and the Dolphins agreed to foot the bill for $5 million of that number in order to get something back for a player they were likely parting ways with under any circumstances. They’re apparently open to trying something similar to get something back for another unwanted player.Defensive end Robert Quinn is the player and Armando Salguero of the reports that the Dolphins are willing to pay some of his salary in order to make a trade happen.Quinn is due to make a salary of just over $11.8 million with a cap hit of just over $12.9 million. The Dolphins have already paid him a $1.12 million roster bonus and Salguero says they’re open to paying more of the salary if it brings back a pick they can use to continue the rebuilding process that is in full swing.

  Sean Mannion Jersey

Six years before the Rams chose Jared Goff with the No. 1 overall pick to be the savior of a struggling franchise Sean Mannion Jersey , they tried the same thing with Sam Bradford. And if Bradford had been running an offense created by the likes of Sean McVay, he might still have that job instead of being on the other sideline Sunday with the Arizona Cardinals.Bradford faces the team that drafted him No. 1 when the Cards (0-1) travel to the Coliseum to face the Rams (1-0), who have been through franchise relocation and a thorough transformation in the three years since they traded Bradford and his troubled knee from St. Louis to Philadelphia. After a two-year stop in Minnesota, Bradford moved back into the NFC West this season with Arizona, where he finally gets to face the franchise that employed him for the first five years of his career. But when asked if the Rams' horned helmets stir up any special emotions, Bradford said: "Not really.""I think if it would have happened sooner in my career, maybe there would be more. But the staff there is completely different. There's only a handful of guys on that roster that were there when I was there, so there's just really not a lot of connection that's still there for me."Indeed Jamon Brown Jersey , the current Rams have few parallels to those not-so-good old days in Missouri. When Bradford left, this team was mired deep in a streak of 13 consecutive non-winning seasons. Bradford is seeing the Rams again after their evolution into one of the NFC's top Super Bowl contenders. Los Angeles has a star-studded lineup and a vaunted coaching staff led by McVay, who was a 24-year-old assistant tight ends coach for the Redskins during Bradford's rookie season with the Rams. The Rams come into their home opener fresh off an impressive Monday night win at Oakland, while the Cardinals stumbled to a 24-6 loss to Washington in coach Steve Wilks' debut. The Rams also drilled their rivals twice last season, a 33-0 shutout in their "home" game in London last October before a comfortable 32-16 win in Glendale, Arizona in December. While Bradford prepares to dodge Aaron Donald and Ndamukong Suh, Goff is fresh and ready after sitting out the entire preseason and then barely getting touched by the Raiders."I don't think I've ever met Sam," Goff said. "I think he's tremendous. I have followed his career just through being a fan and being a fellow quarterback Rob Havenstein Jersey , and I think he's a great player. The guy that our defense is getting ready for is as good as he can be."More things to watch in LA:HOME SOUR HOMEFor all their success last season, the Rams still have won only four of their 15 games at the Coliseum since returning to Los Angeles in 2016. The franchise also is losing a home game this fall to the NFL's international schedule for the third straight season, giving the Rams only seven games to impress the nation's second-largest market. The players would love to establish a home-field advantage in their 95-year-old temporary arena before they move to Inglewood in 2020.SEEKING SACKSDespite a subpar game by the defense, Arizona did sack Washington's Alex Smith three times in last week's opener. That included the first career sack for Robert Nkemdiche and one by Chandler Jones, who has 5 1/2 sacks in five career games against the Rams, including 4 1/2 in four games since coming to the Cardinals in 2016. Jones led the NFL in sacks last season with a franchise-record 17. He could get some help on the other side if Markus Golden is able to return. Golden, coming off major knee surgery, practiced on a limited basis this week but might not be quite ready to play in a game. Golden led the Cardinals with 12 1/2 sacks two seasons ago.STUDY UPMcVay has a short week of preparation after a Monday night game Tyler Higbee Jersey , but the Rams boss gave his players two days off from intense practices. McVay is preparing for the Cardinals' new coaching staff by watching tape of the Carolina defense last season under Wilks, and the Denver offense last season under Cards coordinator Mike McCoy. McVay said Arizona running back David Johnson is "as complete as there is," comparing him favorably to Todd Gurley.CONTROLLING FITZLike just any team Arizona faces, the Rams must concentrate on 14-year veteran Larry Fitzgerald. Given his long history against this team, their attention is highly understandable: Fitzgerald has 176 career receptions against the Rams for 2,017 yards and 18 touchdowns. That's not only more receptions than any other Rams opponent, that's more catches than anyone has against any single opponent in NFL history. Only Jerry Rice and Bob Hayes have more TD catches against a single foe.HEY JOSHJosh Rosen will be at the game, but the quarterback probably will have to wait for his Los Angeles NFL debut. The Manhattan Beach native and three-year starter at UCLA should inherit the Cardinals' starting job from Bradford eventually Jared Goff Jersey , but he's returning to LA as a backup. Rosen lost twice at the Coliseum with the Bruins, including a 28-23 loss to Sam Darnold's Trojans last November.AP Sports Writer Bob Baum contributed to this report. Could Savage be an option for the Rams on day two? The Maryland safety has a strong chance to land in the top-64 picks."With the NFL’s free agency period all-but-over, ours heads turn to the 2019 NFL Draft as we’re officially only one month away from the big day. The Los Angeles Rams seem to have interest in Maryland Terrapins’ safety prospect Darnell Savage Jr, per Jeff Zrebiec of the Athletic Baltimore:Savage is a diminutive safety at just under 5’11” and 198 lbs, though it certainly isn’t noticeable on the field. In between the white lines, Savage could be considered the toughest and most physical player on the field at all times. Savage is blazing fast (4.36 forty), has the ability to kick down into the nickel cornerback spot, can play robber Samson Ebukam Jersey , cover-two, or even single-high. His versatility is a massive part of his game. Not only that, but he’s a punishing tackler in the open field. To round him out as a tremendous safety prospect, his coverage ability is not lacking in any way.Savage likely wouldn’t start in 2019 as the Rams boast a really good duo at safety in John Johnson III and Eric Weddle. There is a possibility he could play sub-package LB, or big nickel in certain situations.I shared some thoughts on Savage a few weeks ago:Another reason the Rams and General Manager Les Snead could have interest in Savage? He was a senior last year at Maryland, and Snead has a long track record of taking older and more developed players (seniors) in past years.

Brian Snitker’s team was riding a three-game winning streak and, beyond that, the Braves had reeled off seven victories in eight games prior to Thursday evening. On the heels of a positive start to the series opener, optimism was high but, at the end of the night, Atlanta fell to New York by a final score of 6-3. The Braves struck first, as Freddie Freeman stroked a ground rule double with two outs in the first inning, setting the stage for Ronald Acua to give the home team the lead. From there, though, it was all Mets, and the visitors made their first dent to the scoreboard in the second inning. Braves starter Kevin Gausman navigated a 1-2-3 frame in the first but quickly ran into trouble, walking the first batters of the second inning. He did induce a ground-out but, immediately, Amed Rosario put the Mets on top with a three-run blast to center. There was some positive mojo on the way, with Johan Camargo contributing a one-out home run to slash the margin to 3-2. Things were quiet after that long ball, with the two teams trading empty innings until the sixth. Then, Gausman allowed two consecutive two-out singles and he was relieved by Wes Parsons. Though the run was charged to Gausman, it was Rosario (again) that produed an RBI single and the Braves were in a 4-2 hole with only three innings to play. In the seventh, Jonny Venters was called on at the outset and Sparky Anderson Jersey , well, that move didn’t work out in grand fashion. The veteran left-hander walked Brandon Nimmo and, on cue, allowed a two-run blast to Pete Alonso that gave the Mets a comfortable, four-run lead. The Braves did threaten in a major way in the seventh inning, albeit unsuccessfully. Dansby Swanson and Tyler Flowers contributed singles and, after a walk to pinch-hitter Matt Joyce, the bases were loaded for Ozzie Albies and Josh Donaldson. Then, Albies swung through a pair of fastballs to strike out and, when Donaldson grounded into a force play, that was the end of that. More positively, Atlanta did add a run later and it came with a monster swing from a certain outfielder. The comeback bid wouldn’t fully materialize, though, as the Braves failed to scratch again in the ninth on the way to the three-run final margin. After a light-out effort in his first start of the season, Gausman wasn’t fantastic on Thursday. He finished 5.2 innings, allowing four earned runs, and Gausman issued four hits and three walks along the way. Offensively, Acua was the clear standout, with three hits (two for extra bases) in his four plate appearances to continue his scorching hot recent performance. Elsewhere, Camargo and Freeman did their part with extra-base hits of their own, but the overall offense wasn’t up to the challenge in this particular spot. The Braves and Mets will square off again on Friday evening, with Sean Newcomb and Zack Wheeler taking the ball for their respective teams. Stay tuned. Pitchers and catchers will begin reporting to spring training later this week, and among other things, that means it's time for an updated version of our MLBpower rankings. While these rankings will provide an up-to-date snapshot of the league, there's still atonof talent left on the free-agent market. That should mean a lot more activity before Opening Day on March 28.For reference, this order was last shuffled Jan.31. As with any offseason power rankings, these take into account how complete a roster is and the direction the franchise is headed. Here are the updated rankings:Updated Rankings1 Boston Red Sox2 New York Yankees3 Los Angeles Dodgers4 Houston Astros5 Chicago Cubs6 St. Louis Cardinals7 Atlanta Braves8 Washington Nationals9 Cleveland Indians10 Philadelphia Phillies11 New York Mets12 Milwaukee Brewers13 Tampa Bay Rays14 Colorado Rockies15 Cincinnati Reds16 Oakland Athletics17 Minnesota Twins18 Los Angeles Angels19 Pittsburgh Pirates20 Arizona Diamondbacks21 Seattle Mariners22 Chicago White Sox23 San Diego Padres24 San Francisco Giants25 Texas Rangers26 Toronto Blue Jays27 Kansas City Royals28 Detroit Tigers29 Miami Marlins30 Baltimore Orioles Notable Recent TransactionsJeremy HellicksonMark Brown/Getty ImagesThe Philadelphia Philliesclimbed from No. 13 to No. 10 in these rankings with the addition of All-Star catcherJ.T. Realmutoin a blockbuster deal with theMiami Marlins.Adding arguably the best catcher in baseball will not only provide a boost to the Phillies offense, but it should also have a positive impact on a young pitching staff. It was a significant enough addition for the Phillies to leapfrog theTampa Bay Rays,Milwaukee Brewersand division-rivalNew York Mets.On the Marlins' end, they were already sitting at No. 29 in the rankings, and they still don't look like a worse team than theBaltimore Orioles, so they stay put.Flipping two years of Realmuto for five years of Jorge Alfaro makes perfect sense for the rebuilding Marlins, and if headliner Sixto Sanchez can live up to his billing as one of the top pitching prospects in baseball, the trade could have a significant positive impact on the franchise. While that was the only swap that figured into the rankings, several other teams have added useful pieces.TheWashington Nationalsbrought back starting pitcher Jeremy Hellickson on a one-year, $1.3 million deal to compete with Joe Ross and Erick Fedde for the No. 5 starter job. The 31-year-old went 5-3 with a 3.45 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 65 strikeouts in 91.1 innings spanning 19 starts last season, though his 4.22 FIPgives reason for pause. On the AL side, theOakland Athleticssigned catcher Nick Hundley and lefty reliever Jerry Blevins to minor league deals before re-signing starter Brett Anderson to a one-year MLB pact Monday, per Susan Slusser of theSan Francisco Chronicle.Hundley immediately becomes the No. 1 catching option on a depth chart that includes Josh Phegley and Chris Herrmann, Blevins has a great shot of winning a bullpen job as the second left-hander alongside Ryan Buchter, and Anderson will slot in as the No. 3 starter behind Mike Fiers and Marco Estrada. It would still behoove the A's to add another proven catcher鈥擬artin Maldonado and Matt Wieters remain unsigned. More starting pitching depth would also be welcome. That said, these are the kinds of moves the A's will make in their effort to once again field a contender. While Blevins settled for a minor league contract despite a solid track record, Zach Duke (Cincinnati Reds), Tony Barnette (Chicago Cubs) and Brad Boxberger (Kansas City Royals) each secured MLB deals. Boxberger should have a chance to win the closer job in Kansas City.TheClevelandIndiansswung a minor trade to acquire Nick Wittgren from the Miami Marlins in exchange for right-hander Jordan Milbrath. Wittgren Mark McGwire Jersey , 27, posted a 2.94 ERA and 8.3 K/9 with five holds in 32 appearances last season. He's under team control through 2022. The Indians also added Alex Wilson on a minor league deal after he posted a 3.20 ERA in 246 appearances with theDetroit Tigersover the past four seasons.Other notable minor league pacts include those ofFrancisco Liriano, Tom Koehler, Nick Franklin and Melky Cabrera(Pittsburgh Pirates), Rene Rivera and Stephen Vogt (San Francisco Giants), Curtis Granderson (Miami Marlins), Matt Davidson and Jason Hammel (Texas Rangers), Josh Tomlin (Milwaukee Brewers), and Lucas Duda, Wilin Rosario and Adam Rosales (Minnesota Twins). Free Agency Shake-UpBryce Harper and Manny Machado will shift these rankings before Opening Day based on where they sign. With that in mind, it's worth taking a look at the latest rumors that surround each player and how their decisions could impact things. Bryce HarperDustin Bradford/Getty ImagesTheSan Francisco Giantshave emerged from the shadows as contenders to sign Harper, withBob Nightengale ofUSA Todayrecently reporting that the Giants plan to offer him a "lucrative, short-term deal" as they continue to seek outfield help. That might not move the needle, though.Jon Heyman of MLB Network reported on Tuesday that Harper is not considering any short-term deals.Still, the Giants are the new favorites in the latest Vegas odds, followed by thePhiladelphia Phillies,San Diego Padres,Los Angeles DodgersandWashington Nationals. The Giants and Padres would both climb into the top 20 in these rankings with Harper in the fold, while signing him would be enough to make both the Phillies and Nationals new favorites in the NL East. He'd be a huge addition for the Dodgers as well but wouldn't be enough to jump them ahead of the Red Sox or Yankees.Manny MachadoSean M. Haffey/Getty ImagesTheChicago White Soxremain the front-runners to sign Machado, and that's reflected in his most recent Vegas odds. With Machado in the mix and top prospect Eloy Jimenez on the horizon, the White Sox could push for second in the AL Central and hover on the periphery of the AL wild-card picture.TheNew York Yankees,San Diego PadresandPhiladelphia Phillieswere the other teams included in his updated odds. Other suitors could still emerge as things stretch further into February, but those are the clubs to keep an eye on.It's hard to see how he fits with the Yankees, but signing him would be enough for them to vault the Red Sox into the No. 1 spot. Just like with Harper, signing Machado would push the Padres into the top 20 and the Phillies to the top of the NL East heap.Other Remaining Free AgentsDallas KeuchelBob Levey/Getty ImagesHarper and Machado are not the only remaining free agents of note. Here's a quick position-by-position rundown of the rest of the remaining class:C: Martin Maldonado, Matt Wieters1B:Logan Morrison http://www.athleticsfanproshop.com/authentic-khris-davis-jersey , Adrian Gonzalez2B: Josh Harrison, Logan Forsythe3B:Mike Moustakas, Yangervis SolarteSS:Jose Iglesias, Adeiny Hechavarria, Alcides EscobarOF:Adam Jones, Carlos Gonzalez, Denard Span, Carlos GomezUT:Marwin Gonzalez, Derek DietrichDH: Evan Gattis, Hanley RamirezSPBig Grinallas Keuchel, Gio Gonzalez,Clay Buchholz, Edwin JacksonRHRP:Craig Kimbrel, Ryan Madson, Adam Warren, Bud Norris, John AxfordLHRP:Jake Diekman, Tony Sipp, Jorge De La Rosa,Dan JenningsWhich of these guys will settle for less money or a minor league deal, and who will hold out and still be looking for work when Opening Day arrives?Depending on how the key dominoes fall, this could be a transformative offseason that leads to an overhaul of the free-agency system. He is 12-4 with a 1.97 ERA and has struck out 219 in just 146 innings.WEATHER ALERTAs Hurricane Florence menaces the East Coast, more games could be in jeopardy. There were rainouts Monday night in Philadelphia, where Nationals star Bryce Harper joined a grounds crew that used blow torches trying to get the field dry, and in New York — there have been 51 weather-related postponements this season after a total of 39 last year. The Nationals and Phillies are scheduled for a doubleheader at Citizens Bank Park, the Marlins visit the Mets and Baltimore hosts Oakland.NO MO’The Cardinals are hoping catcher Yadier Molina can play sometime during a seven-game homestand that began this week. Braves starters had a 2.50 ERA in the series, allowing five earned runs in 18 innings. Atlanta relievers allowed nine earned runs in 10 innings for an 8.10 ERA while losing closer Arodys Vizcaino to season-ending shoulder surgery.“We’ve just got to grind through it,” Braves manager Brian Snitker said. “On the back end of things like this is something really good if you handle it.”Pinch-hitter Nick Ahmed’s double drove in Tim Locastro in Arizona’s three-run seventh.Soroka escaped a bases-loaded, one-out jam in the fifth. A look at what’s happening around the majors today:MOOKIE MANIAMookie Betts tries to follow up his first career cycle when Boston opens a series at Baltimore. The AL MVP contender homered off Ken Giles in the ninth inning Thursday to complete his first career cycle Rollie Fingers Jersey , though the Red Sox still lost 8-5. A trip to Camden Yards doesn’t figure to slow Betts — he’s hit 13 homers there in 35 games, by far his most in any stadium other than Fenway Park. Betts is hitting .347 with 27 homers, 59 RBIs and a 1.102 OPS this season.HEALTH SCAREDodgers closer Kenley Jansen has been sent back to Los Angeles after being hospitalized Thursday with an irregular heartbeat. Jansen has dealt with an irregular heartbeat in the past, and manager Dave Roberts said the right-hander will visit his cardiologist in LA. Roberts said the team is “holding out hope it’s not too serious.” Roberts didn’t know if the team would make a roster move in Jansen’s absence.CARLOS COMES BACKCarlos Correa is expected back in the lineup for Houston. The star shortstop has been out with lower back soreness since June 25. Correa completed a rehab assignment with Double-A Corpus Christi on Wednesday and was in Houston for a scheduled day off Thursday. Correa is batting .268 with 13 home runs and 49 RBIs.BOLSTERED BULLPENThe Athletics have charged into the AL playoff picture with a never-say-die lineup, but Oakland is looking to make a name for keeping leads http://www.athleticsfanproshop.com/authentic-khris-davis-jersey , too. Fernando Rodney may join the team Friday after being acquired via trade from Minnesota on Thursday night. The longtime closer joins a deep bullpen led by Blake Treinen, Lou Trivino and former Mets closer Jeurys Familia. That quartet could prove pivotal if Oakland winds up in the AL wild-card game. For now, the group will try to lock down victories as the A’s open a series in Anaheim.GRAY DAYSJon Gray aims to continue a strong second half of the season when Colorado hosts the Dodgers. Gray struggled hard in the first half, even getting demoted to Triple-A in early July, but he’s been solid since returning to the majors. So take that for what it’s worth. This kind of low-rent free agent signing has become a staple of the Cleveland front office in recent years. Let’s hope Joyce can join the ranks of Rajai Davis and Austin Jackson as a surprisingly productive member of the Indians’ outfield.
